The MRI Group knows there is never really a good time for medical procedures or tests. That's why our services are available on a 24-hour basis. We're here to deliver professional and compassionate diagnostic imaging services that meet your needs, while allowing you to maintain your everyday lifestyle.

Our Professionalism

Our services are performed by registered technologists and board certified, licensed radiologists will interpret your images. Board certified, licensed physicians monitor oral sedation and contrast administration, and all contrast procedures fully comply with manufacturer's guidelines.

Our diagnostic MRI procedures conform to the guidelines established by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Now Offering Breast MRI

An MRI is one of the most advanced technologies for producing diagnostic images of the human body's internal organs and structure. The benefits of a breast MRI are numerous. The MRI Group is currently the only provider of this diagnostic test in Lancaster County.  There are two convenient locations to better accommodate your needs, Lancaster General Health Campus, 2100 Harrisburg Pike and Lancaster General – Norlanco 424 Cloverleaf Road, Elizabethtown.

• A breast MRI is a noninvasive study involving absolutely no exposure to radiation.
• MRI studies have proven valuable in diagnosing a broad range of conditions, including detecting and staging breast cancer, particularly when other options like mammograms and ultrasounds have failed to yield adequate information.
• Abnormalities that could possibly be obscured by bone when using other imaging methods are easily diagnosed by an MRI.
• MRI can successfully image the dense breast tissue that is common in younger women, as well as patients with breast implants. These are both difficult to image when using traditional mammography.

The MRI is a painless exam that lasts 20-60 minutes. We will call you before your MRI to confirm your appointment and review your medical history. We will also provide you with additional information on your MRI and can answer any questions or address you concerns.

• For breast MRIs, you do not need to fast.
• Please take any regular medication as your physician has directed. If you regularly take pain medication, continue taking it as prescribed. We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your MRI.
• Please inform us prior to your visit if you have a pacemaker, aneurysm clips, inner ear implants, metal fragments in your eyes or a spinal cord stimulator.
• When you come for your exam, please bring your physician referral, insurance cards and billing information.
• Please plan to arrive at the MRI Group facility 15 minutes before your scheduled time. All MRI Group facilities have free, convenient parking.

After the MRI
As a courtesy to you, we will bill your primary and secondary insurance carriers. We can also provide insurance counseling, if needed.
